Research
The Institute
The Institute of Biochemistry comprises the Chair of Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine and the Chair of Biochemistry and Pathobiochemistry, as well as professorships for Bioinformatics and Molecular Imaging. The research groups of the Institute for Biochemistry study basic physiological and pathophysiological principles in nervous system and oncological settings using approaches from biochemistry, molecular genetics, embryology, cell biology and bioinformatics. Research interests focus among others on the mechanisms of receptor mediated signal transduction and transcriptional regulation in the nervous system and tumor cells.
